On Sunday I attended the Lunar New Year Celebration at Botany Library, organised by Botany & Flat Bush Ethnic Association.
On Saturday, Barry Curtis Park was filled with the Colours of Joy! This wonderful Community-led event was organised by Rainbow Celebrating Life Trust.

Public submissions on proposed Plan Change 120: Housing Intensification and Resilience closes this Friday 19 December at 5pm.
In our Howick Local Board open workshop today, staff presented an update on the temporary library space for Flat Bush. The community has waited a long time for the library they were promised and while this isn't the permanent facility, I'm thrilled to see that we're closer than we've ever been before. There is still a lot of work to be done, but it's fantastic to see real progress!

Today (20 November) is Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day to remember those trans people we have lost to violence, discrimination, and bigotry. It forms part of Trans Awareness Week, which is an opportunity to celebrate the beauty, resilience, and courage of the trans community.
